html+xhtml+css=WEBSITE

Ok, well my connection to my Internet is very slow and has been all day long. But I found this application for WordPress on my iPhone. This let’s me post to my blog from my phone and for some reason this connection is working way faster than the one on my iMac and PC. Maybe I should just get rid of those and get me a bunch of iPhone’s and iPod Touch, since I am posting to my blog from my iPhone and surfing the web on my wife’s iPhone :-) Just a thought ;-)
HTML and XHTML are pretty much the same and different in many ways. I have not messed with any codeing but that is why I am attending The Art Institute of Dallas. Anyhow, from what I have read that others are saying that XHTML is better than HTML, and easier to teach and learn. But I can see that bieng true since I would expect the newer version of somthing to be better than the one before it. Just like when the first web came it was good but now that Web 2.0 is here it is even better and more efficient. XHTML is suppose to be easier to work with since the rules for it are more defined than with HTML and you are less likely to run into error codes and mistakes. But just like with anything else you need to use certian tools for certian projects thatvis why you have a toolbox full of different options and not just a hammer for your nails, staples, and screws. I found this site that showed examples of both codes and they seemed to not be much different from each other, with a few adjustments.
CSS sounds to me that it is a style sheet that let’s they web designer have more control on how a page is viewed and not the browser. They are styling sheets that help improve the displaying of you HTML.
I will post up the links that go with this as soon as my connection speed gets back to normal on my iMac. Since it seems that I can’t do that from my iPhone but this I’d the first time I am using this to post to my blog.

Here is a video for your viewing pleasure.

Way to be resourceful and utilize your iPhone to get your post in. I have a Palm Centro that I love, but you guys are going to make me ditch it to get an iPhone. I’ll expand a little on my comment I made on Sara’s blog – http://slschweppe.wordpress.com/2008/09/08/xhtml-css/. Many times a single cascading style sheet (CSS) is linked to from many pages on a Website. Let’s say you create a style for a header. Having a CSS allows you to change the header’s style across which ever pages are using it without needing to go into each and every page. Talk about a time saver.

  2. think of xhtml just and upgrade html, and css is just something that defines the html or xhtml http://www.xhtmlandcss.com/xhtml.htm

  3. CSS is also a great way to design a webpage. One of the other good uses of CSS is that you can code a page and have thousands of pages change visually to your code. It helps control the elements in a page and create defined layout s and colors. It is like a visual tool box and reference for your complete web site.
